A walk on the beach

This photo was taken in Monterey, California, this summer. The students and I had a really nice time playing volleyball, eating burgers, doing yoga and playing around on the beach.

When I was in high school, one of my good friends was a gymnast. We spent a lot of time hanging out in parks. She could do all kinds of crazy flips and walk around on her hands. I decided to learn, too.

Now, I love to kick off my shoes and throw up my feet. It is a good test of balance to see how long I can do it or how far I can walk. I would still really like to learn how to do a back flip and back handsprings. It looks like so much fun to flip around so freely. Can you do it? If so, will you teach me?

  1. This is one of my favorite photos I took in Monterey. I can't understand how you stand on your hands! When I was ten, I tried to do but unfortunately, I made a hole in a wall in my parents' room... I'll never do again!Haha

  2. I can imagine how happy your parents were. Can you do a cartwheel? If you know how to twist your hips and bring your feet down first, you understand the most important part. After you know how to get down easily, it just takes a little practice. Next time we are outside, we can try. It will be fun.

  4. Actually, Emi gave me this photo. That's why you've seen it before. It was very kind of her to share so I have something to post on my blog.

I am glad you enjoyed this one.
